About the Children's Music School

Children respond naturally to music – they love to sing, dance and play musical games.

The Children’s Music School works with this instinctive drive, building confidence, enriching learning and developing creativity.

At The Children’s Music School we believe passionately that every child can have a rich musical life.

Children are inherently musical, wanting to play musical games and sing, they also want to know how things work; first there is the ‘doing’, then comes the understanding.

At The Children’s Music School, using only repertoire of the highest quality, carefully planned learning steps and lots of fun, children move effortlessly forward as musical knowledge and understanding emerges and ‘clicks’ into place. The excitement and satisfaction experienced motivates children to keep pushing forward and find out more – this builds confidence and empowers a child.

Music is of huge importance for a child’s well being and at The Children’s Music School we are aware of the profound effect of music on a child – it is our raison d’être. We work with sensitivity to the needs of each child, knowing that no two children have the same responses to music.

At The Children’s Music School, children learn in a small group setting; they work together, watch, listen and learn from their peers, perform, take turns and interact with the subtlety needed when singing and making music as part of an ensemble. They are both challenged and supported in ways that work for them.
